Opening hours

Normal opening hours are from 9 a.m to 2 p.m and from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. However, some establishments open from midday until 10:00 p.m.

Going out: the most popular places: bars, pubs and clubs are usually open all week until 2.00 or 6.00 a.m.

Tipping

• When? Although always discretional, the custom of tipping exists.
• Where and to whom? In bars, restaurants and to hotel and catering staff.
• Percentage? Between 5-10% of the total consumption charge.

Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, you can request immediate help by dialling the telephone number 112, for the emergencies service. The call is free and you will rapidly be attended to in a choice of 4 languages (Spanish, Catalan, English and German).

This telephone number is used to coordinate all calls for ambulances, firemen and security forces in order to achieve a faster and more effective response to any emergency, whatever the type may be.
